Sun Break Cafe in Auburn

We showed up at around 10 and the line was super long, but it went quickly. Our server was really nice, and the food came surprisingly fast too, even though the place was packed. I got the biscuits and gravy, and it was so good I practically scraped the plate clean :) Overall, I'd absolutely recommend this place, this was my first time going and I will definitely come back.

Amazing food! Very large portions. I got the half order of the scramble and still couldn't finish it! Next time I'll try the pancakes that are larger than the plate! They looked amazing!

Came here with my husband and we absolutely LOVED it. The reviews were everything and more. Portion size was HUGE and the food was very delicious. I’d recommend to sample their apple cider because it was amazing! Oh and the waiter was very helpful and friendly. We found our new favorite breakfast place🙌🏻.

This food was incredible. It was so much. I had the french toast peanut butter sandwich. I asked about maybe getting a side and was warned the food I was getting would be more than enough. They were incredible. I couldn't eat more than 2/3 of it. I definitely would come back and get something else.

Fantastic! They open super early so you can have great food, friendly staff, always clean and THE BANANA BREAD IS AMAZING! 13/10 would highly recommend eating here. The omelets are so good!

Breakfasts are big so you can typically share or take some home for leftovers. Lunch sandwiches are delicious

The BEST breakfasts, kindest staff. You usually have to wait in line, but it is definitely worth it. Don't forget to get a loaf of banana bread to go....it is sooooo great!

The food is good but the service sucks . And the wait and lines are long.It was a lot better when it was an old country coffee shop with a wood fired heating stove on C Street next to the tractor shop. This place looks like a modern cafeteria with no charm.

The best breakfast and lunch sandwiches in the area. While the food is great, the staff is exceptional. I’ve always appreciated their extra care for my family, especially when I have visited with my kiddos. We’ve been ordering take-our sandwiches during the pandemic and thoroughly enjoy the quality and tastiness! Don’t forget to get a “slice” of their banana bread.

Nicely located in old downtown Auburn, this place looks like just what I wanted from the outside. Plenty of parking too. The menu is sandwiches served cafeteria style. The people were friendly and helpful. I found the food to be plain and just-not-what-i-was-looking-for with too much plain white bread and not enough flavor. The restrooms would be a challenge in a wheelchair and could have used a little cleaning.

Good as usual, except the crust on the bread was touph.

Sun Break Cafe is a good restaurant with very large portions. You can order your portions in sizes of a whole (~$20), and half (~$13). The lighting is dim in some lights, this could be because the restaurant tries to use solar energy. Customer service is very friendly and pleasant. Order:- Whole Fajita Omlette- 1/2 Eggs Benedict- 1/2 Vegetable, turkey omlette- 2x Coffee- 1x Orange JuiceTotal = ~$61.50

Food tastes good and they give too much food. Seriously two people can share one full order omelette. All their food tastes good but their banana bread is just absolutely amazing. I would come back just for the banana bread and a cup of coffee.

Such quick service,divine tastes, and overall amazing quality they are not a chain restaurant so they are most likely fresher then your local red robin.

Great place for breakfast! Order a half size unless you want to take most of your breakfast home! Even with ordering half sizes we had a doggie bag. Banana bread is delicious! There is usually a line here but it moves quickly. There's also an adorable country store to peak in at too. Great way to start your day!

The food here tastes really good. Lots of variety of pastry flavors. The staff are always friendly and nice. Would definitely come back soon and recommend this shop.

Parking was tough because of construction on the adjoining lot. Food was good but really is large portions even at the half. Wait staff was great and very attentive. The little store made my day after breakfast and got you moving before sitting in a car

Amazing food, huge portions!!!Ordered the eggs Benedict and a side of bacon, both of which were fantastic (the bacon is thick cut and delicious). My only complaint is that the hash browns which came with my meal weren't as crispy as I like them to be, but that is just a personal preference.Beware: this place is very popular so if you go at the wrong time expect a decent wait for a table.

HUGE portions, I eat a lot but got a full portion and have TWO meals worth of leftovers! The food is delicious and the staff are super friendly. The owner, Bruce, was even walking around talking to customers. Overall a high quality establishment with even higher quality food!

Amazing cafe with delicious brunch! A few of us ordered several large dishes to share and my favorite was the country fried steak! The banana bread is to die for. I end up ordering a loaf to take home.

They have vegetarian options, and a decent sized menu for any cravings!I’ve only been here for the breakfast many times, but I’ve seen their huge lunch sandwiches as well and can’t wait to try them!

Freaking delicious! And the staff is super personable, super friendly. I've been wanting to come here for a while, but my fiancé and I usually go to Poverty Bay for weekend breakfast; my fiancé is of the opinion that one should just do a 5-minute drive between home and a breakfast diner. It took a little bit of convincing, since our last breakfast experience at Poverty Bay was suboptimal. Definitely coming back here to gorge on some delicious breakfast food and maybe stop by the little antique shop by the front, provided I'm not so stuffed, that I'm falling asleep while walking to the car.I got the Everything Omelette, and can't wait to try all they have to offer from their menu, especially all the Benedicts.

The food here is SO GOOD! The service is amazing, food is delicious, and they come in gigantic servings. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Pricey which I guess is ok for the amount of food you get. Sat at table for 20 min waiting on someone to take our order. We ended up walking out. Wasn't even sure who our server was.

We love coming here for brunch on the weekends and the few times we've come in a large group, they were super accommodating, friendly, and attentive. The food is good, but expect enormous portions and lots of potatoes! If you like banana bread, definitely give it a try and if you like apple cider, their different flavors are delicious. Weekends can be out-the-door busy, but they're quick and efficient so the line goes quickly. If you want to try it when it's quiet, try really early morning on a weekday!

Love this place and can’t wait until they’re open for seating. I ordered several items this morning, for a small family brunch - everything was yummy, especially the banana bread!

My fav spot to go to for breakfast. They offer half or full because of the huge breakfast size that can feed 2 people with a full. Half size will satisfy you. And depending on your size you might have left over.

The food was great but they need to have sides with the French toast. Otherwise very good food

Portions are too big. My son got a pancake bigger than the plate it was on. Pretty hard to eat a pancake that way. Banana bread is worth it. And if your looking for a huge breakfast could be the perfect place.

Food quality has changed over the years. I ordered sausage, hash browns, scrambled eggs, with French toast on the side. More than half of the plate was oily, soggy hash browns, one round sausage i could get from Costco freezer section, and eggs my teenager could have prepared at home. The french toast was the only item that was good. Service was mediocre. I still like their banana bread which was delicious and moist. Otherwise I think IHOP's breakfast taste better. I won't be coming back for breakfast.

OMG I just walked in and tried the banana bread and its literally the best banana bread I've ever had! Everyone is so sweet and pleasant there. I definitely will be back! Thanks so much for the memorable experience.

Grabbed a quick bite to eat here before checking out the outlet mall in Auburn. Pretty big restaurant and VERY quick and friendly service. We both got half omelets and they were still huge. Like I didn't even eat half of my omelet. I personally do not like how much there was in my veggie omelet and thought the sheer amount of hash browns was way too much. Zero flavor to my food. My boyfriend liked his omelet, but I think that's just cause he is a big ham and bacon fan. I'm not sure why this place gets such good ratings. The food is not great....

We've been going here for 20+ years. One of our favorite breakfast spots. Huge helpings and yummy food. Great wait staff. It's a shame that the city has taken most of their parking for big development. This is a family owned business.

We LOVE this place, Tess and the rest of the staff are a joy to be around. We just ordered lunch since my husband and I are working from home due to the "virus" scare. The first thing we thought of was, lets support Sun Break since they're only open for take-out due to the ban on restaurants, bars, clubs, etc!!! So that's exactly what we did, we and a couple of our neighbors called in a order for lunch and went and picked it up. And might I add, the Poor Boy sandwich was the best EVER! I myself ordered the whole sandwich, you can order half or whole and I consumed the entire thing! Let's support our locally owned businesses and see this thing through!!! Lines are long, so get here early and expect a wait. Food was good. Monstrous portions. Couldn’t finish it all. I wish the hash browns were more well-done. Great flavors with the hollandaise sauce. Great service. There was a veteran missing some limbs sitting near us. When we went to pay at the cashier, we offered to pay for his meal, but they said that someone had already beaten us to it.
